Back Street

This is a story about a beautiful young woman who wants to be a dress designer.  She lives in a small town with her sister and her sister's family.  She can't get up the nerve to go to New York and try to make her dream come true. She meets a Serviceman and falls in love. Although he told her his name, it did not register with her that he owned several big department stores and that he was married. She knows if she stays in New York she cannot resist seeing him and since his wife will not give him a divorce they do not have a future.   She has now become very famous. She talks to her partner who suggests she go to Rome and set up a shop. She is happy there and successful, then one day she meets him by accident and the affair begins.  When he goes to Paris at the insistence of his wife, they plan for her to follow.  It is a wonderful love story but the ending is very sad.
